This 2014 Pessac-Leognan Chateau Pape Clément offers a great amount of black fruits, frankly and purely given off, without being altered by wood. The swirling exhales a large palette of fresh blackcurrant, raspberry and smashed blackberry. A fresh cedar of Lebanon note concludes the olfactory examination. The attack is ample, bold and leads to a solid mid-palate. The wine is round carried by a strong tannic structure that is fine on the finish. The finish is fruity and the whole gives this Cru Classé a good ageing potential.
